This is a fluid system that mobilizes the spine through seven progressions of movement including arching, curling, side-bending, twisting, and spiraling in all directions. The goal of the GYROKINESIS® method is to open and release the spine and then progress to the other muscle and joint structures of the body. Throughout GYROKINESIS® instruction, one progresses from seated exercises to mat exercises and eventually to standing exercises.
